Config values for Windows are stored in the registry... why is this on the bug tracker? :)

Edit: Oh, it's a support request. Cool!

Would be nice for support reasons if there was a file and same format across all platforms. Think "Send me your conf file" and "erase your conf file". "Delete from registry" = dangerous and ugly. Less platform specific code = better.

Also, registry = one copy for all users? if so, not acceptable. Bob and Jim share a laptop, but have diff prefs.

That's a Qt feature. It uses whatever is the default location for saving settings per platform. On windows, it's considered proper to save application specific settings to the registry. I can use INI files, or write my own XML settings files class, but that's going to require some work.

OK, defer to later/never, then, though I don't like it for aforementioned reasons.

What're the current status and behaviour of this, Mike?

As of commit 1b183ee49c2f38c841bba43c037eaf23a226bd9e a month or so ago, the following is true:

On all NON posix OS's, the config file is now settings.ini in the executable directory
For posix OS's, the config file should be settings.ini, residing in whatever directory you execute emstudio from. This is verified in linux, can not verify in OSX. This needs to change, but for now that is the behavior.
