Maybe the AWT FileDialog is the answer, or maybe not. http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/awt/FileDialog.html [^] |

I realised last night while working with some other app what the solution for this is: Recently opened menu item/list! The last one being selected is of limited use, and works on linux/windows, and can't work on mac without using outdated classes, or possibly at all, or without rolling your own, SO, just forget about the original purpose of this issue and instead consider it a request to add a recently opened list. Bonus points for a second menu with list of dirs. I regularly open logs from specific dirs, spudmnlogs, prestologs, hotellogs, etc each one had their own dir and I save the files to there fairly consistently. Thus being able to bring up the dialogue box already in a specific dir would be very useful, more so than the "last file" thing, which is primarily useful for testing OLV itself. Assigning back to Ben on the basis of the new meaning of this issue, even if that's slightly dirty. |
